The 2025 NBA Finals between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Indiana Pacers has delivered everything fans hoped for—and more. With six tightly contested games in the books, the series is tied 3-3 and now comes down to one final battle for basketball’s ultimate prize. Both squads have showcased their youth, depth and hunger throughout the series and now the spotlight shifts to Paycom Center in Oklahoma City, where the championship will be decided.
This Game 7 preview will recap the key moments of the series so far, what’s at stake in the finale and highlight DFS plays as we brace for one of the most anticipated NBA Finals finishes in recent memory.
The Finals tipped off with fireworks, as the Pacers stunned the Thunder with a 111-110 road victory. Indiana clawed back from a nine-point fourth-quarter deficit, led by Tyrese Haliburton’s late-game poise and a buzzer-beating dagger that silenced the Oklahoma City crowd. Haliburton posted a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds, while Pascal Siakam added 19 points and 10 boards. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s 38-point performance was not enough, as OKC’s offense sputtered in crunch time.
The Thunder struck back emphatically in Game 2, unleashing a 123-104 statement win. Gilgeous-Alexander was again dominant, scoring 38 while dishing out eight assists and swiping four steals. Jalen Williams added 19 points and tough perimeter defense, while Chet Holmgren responded with an efficient 16-point outing. Oklahoma City’s improved defensive rotations and better pace control were key to leveling the series.
The series continued to seesaw, with each game exposing new wrinkles. The Pacers regained an edge in Game 3 behind a rejuvenated home crowd and a 22-11-9 game from their star Tyrese Haliburton.
The Thunder reclaimed momentum with a gritty win on the road in Game 4, coming from behind in the 4th quarter with 35 points from SGA. Game 5 was the Jalen Williams game for the Thunder. He led them to a 120-109 victory in a game in which he scored 40 points. Additionally, in that game, Tyrese Haliburton of the Pacers went down with a calf injury.
Haliburton ended up gutting it out and playing in Game 6 back at home. Indiana forced Game 7 with a gut-check victory in Game 6, displaying the resilience that’s defined their playoff run. It truly was a great team win with six guys in double figures. Now, with everything on the line, both teams must bring their best effort yet.
With the Larry O’Brien Trophy on the line, expect both coaches to lean heavily on their stars. Oklahoma City’s Gilgeous-Alexander remains a premier fantasy option. He’s been a matchup nightmare throughout the Finals, blending elite footwork, midrange accuracy and free throw volume. In a winner-takes-all scenario, he’s a near-lock for high usage and production.
Chet Holmgren’s value lies in his two-way presence—he can stretch the floor offensively and protect the rim defensively. If he stays out of foul trouble, he offers excellent fantasy upside. Jalen Williams has emerged as a pivotal piece, consistently contributing on both ends. His ability to score without dominating the ball, coupled with his defensive intensity, makes him a smart DFS target in a high-stakes setting.
For Indiana, Tyrese Haliburton is still a top-tier fantasy option. His blend of passing vision, scoring ability and pace control ensures high involvement in every possession. Pascal Siakam’s versatility as a scorer and rebounder makes him a reliable pick, especially in a game where experience could tilt the scales. Myles Turner offers sneaky upside—his shot-blocking and floor spacing can create DFS value, but he has struggled throughout this series.
The wildcard for Game 7? Jalen Williams. With defenses keyed in on Gilgeous-Alexander, Williams is poised to benefit from defensive lapses and transition opportunities. His confidence has grown with every game, especially after his 40-point performance. His motor could be the difference-maker on both ends of the court. If he delivers another huge performance, the Thunder may find themselves hoisting the trophy on their home floor.
